Raymond Patrick Jaffie
Raymond Patrick Jaffie, who owned and operated The Huntting Inn during the 1970s, died in Florida on Tuesday, August 2. He was 83.
Born August 16, 1927, to Harry and Margaret Jaffie (née Dooley), he served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in the Pacific. In 1956, he married Corinne Katherine “Mickey” Shea, who survives him. Upon his retirement from the Treasurers and Ticket Sellers Union, Mr. Jaffie moved his family to East Hampton in 1969, where they purchased and operated The Huntting Inn on Main Street.
He and his wife relocated to Hollywood, Florida, and continued to travel and enjoy life until his death.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Jaffie is survived by his children, Susan, Harry, Tina and Diane; grandchildren, Leslie, Mackenzie, Liam and Ethan; nephews, Raymond and Kenneth Jaffie; and niece, Suzanne Hines. Mr. Jaffie was predeceased by a sister, Lorainne Teidt; a brother, Morris; and many family members and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 19, at the Huntting Inn in East Hampton.
