Thomas Damiecki
Thomas Edward Damiecki, formerly of Bay Point, Sag Harbor, died at Southampton Hospital on Saturday, March 10, after a long illness. He was 59.
Mr. Damiecki, born in Southampton on July 9, 1952, was a son of Edward and Stella Damiecki of Bridgehampton, where he grew up on the family farm and attended grade and high school. His love of the soil and local landscape inspired Mr. Damiecki to attain a degree in ornamental horticulture at State University of New York Farmingdale. Shortly thereafter he started his own landscaping company, which he ran for many years.
An energetic and hardworking man, Mr. Damiecki was known as a gentleman and had only kind words for others.
“Tom was generous and humble and never realized how well liked he was,” his brother Ted said.
Mr. Damiecki is survived by three brothers, Robert and Kenneth of Bridgehampton, and his twin, Theodore of East Hampton.
A memorial Mass will be announced for this summer at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church in Bridgehampton.
Memorial donations may be made to East End Hospice, P.O. Box 1048, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978.
