Friends of The Big Duck, a non-profit organization, commemorates the 90th Birthday of The Big Duck with a celebration at Big Duck Ranch on Saturday, July 31. The rain date is Sunday, August 1.
The family fun will include games, raffles, and a “ quack-off” as well as special guest appearances including East End folksinger Caroline Doctorow. She wrote the children’s song, “Big Duck Ramble,” which her fans consider the anthem of The Big Duck.
Raffle proceeds will benefit Friends of The Big Duck, the steward of Big Duck Ranch. The organization landscapes the garden, maintains the Long Island Duck Farming Exhibit in the Victorian Barn (which will re-open to the public that day) and services the public bathrooms.
Both admission and parking for the event are free. Cars should enter at Otter Hole Neck Road, just east of The Big Duck. For more information, call 631-284-3737, email friendsofthebigduck2020@gmail.com or visit Friends of The Big Duck Facebook page.
