On February 19th at 7PM on Zoom, please join the Shelter Island Public Library for a webinar with Bob Zellner, civil rights leader and former East End resident, who has devoted his life to the fight for racial justice. Zellner’s autobiography, "The Wrong Side of Murder Creek," was recently adapted into a feature film produced by Spike Lee, called "Son of the South," and is currently available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime. Fellow Alabamian and former Shelter Islander Diane McWhorter, author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning civil rights history of Birmingham, "Carry Me Home," will facilitate the discussion. Please register for this program, which is part of the series "Necessary Bridges," co-sponsored by the Shelter Island Health and Wellness Alliance, at www.silibrary.org.
