As one of the North Fork’s most age-worthy red wines, the 2019 Musée is Bedell Cellar’s ultimate expression of North Fork terroir. The wine is powerful, with a show-stopping core of dark, ripe fruit and a complex array of flavors that textural nuances.

“The 2019 vintage on the North Fork was one of the finest of the last decade and allowed me to make this beautiful red blend — the first one since the vintage of 2015,” said winemaker Richard Olsen-Harbich. “It’s probably the wine I love to make the most as it captures the true potential of our terroir. I consider this wine to be the pinnacle of quality and prestige in the region and it will age gracefully for decades to come. One of the most collectible and rare wines produced on the East Coast of the United States.”

Fermented with wild yeasts and aged for 14 months is 25 percent new French oak cooperage, the 2019 vintage shows ripeness levels rivaling that of their legendary vintage of 2010. On the palate, the wine showcases impeccable balance and finesse with ripe black fruits dominate, luscious flavors of blackberries, black cherries and beach plums. The silky tannins are beautifully integrated, lending structure without overpowering the palate and a touch of dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans add a delightful richness and complexity.

The Musée 2019 is 48 percent Petit Verdot, 25 percent Merlot, 19 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 8 percent Merlot. The bottle costs $75 and can be purchased at the winery or at bedellcellars.com

Bedell’s 2022 Sauvignon Blanc displays a brilliant pale straw-yellow color, reminiscent of the sunlight filtering through the glass and its luminosity and clarity are a testament to its freshness. The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc embodies the quintessential characteristics of the North Fork, boasting a refreshing acidity, low in alcohol, and a distant minerality, making it a delightful choice for those seeking a sophisticated and harmonious white wine.

“Our 2022 Sauvignon Blanc is the best example of this variety I’ve ever produced in my 40-plus years of making wine on Long Island,” said Olsen-Harbich. “An example of the great potential of this variety on the North Fork.”

On the nose, the Sauvignon Blanc exudes vibrant aromas. The first inhalation reveals intense notes of citrus, grapefruit, passion fruit and lemon. Alongside the citrus, there is a nuanced saline minerality that adds depth, imparting a subtle earthiness and contributing to the overall structure.

The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc is 100 percent Sauvignon Blanc. The bottle costs $20 and can be purchased at the winery.
