Harbor Bistro Chef
To Cook At James Beard House

Local chef Damien O’Donnell of Harbor Bistro in East Hampton has been invited to cook at the prestigious James Beard House in Manhattan on Saturday, January 28. In the industry, it’s recognized as one of the highest honors attainable for a chef.

Mr. O’Donnell’s menu, titled “East Meets East End,” will highlight local resources infused with his signature Asian-style, paired with Wölffer Estate Vineyard wines from Sagaponack.

The hors d’oeuvres on his menu will include yellowfish tuna poke, winter fluke ceviche, tandoori-spiced fried oysters, Bonac clams and Mangolian beef short rib lettuce wrap. His five-course dinner includes Maine lobster tail tempura, sea scallops, roasted Crescent Farms duck breast, kobe beef tataki and pistachio financier.

Tickets are $175 per person, or $136 for James Beard House members. Call 212-627-2308 or visit bit.ly/ODonnellBeardHouse.

Buoy One
Closed For Renovations

Buoy One Seafood Restaurant and Bar, a popular eatery on Montauk Highway in Westhampton, has temporarily closed for renovations and is expected to reopen in early March, according to an employee at the restaurant. Patrons looking for their seafood fix can still visit Buoy One’s flagship restaurant in Riverhead.

The renovations will include new flooring and windows, according to a post on the Buoy One Facebook page.

“There’s still much to be done but we’re excited to bring you a brand new venue for the Buoy experience you know and love,” the post reads.
