The Group for the East End and Sparkling Pools & Harbor Hot Tubs in Sag Harbor have joined together to provide discounts for those who choose to participate in the Long Island Power Authority’s Efficient Pool Pump Rebate Program.
The Swimming Pool Altruistic Rebate Challenge rewards those who use the LIPA rebate, which pays pool owners $400 when they replace their existing single speed pool pump with a high-tech variable-speed pump that uses 80-percent less electricity.
According to information provided by the Group for the East End and Sparking Pools, a typical pool owner will save $5,000 or more over the 10-year life of the variable speed pump. The newer pumps are also considerably quieter than the older models, according to the information provided.
