Real estate agent Thomas Friedman has hopped from Nest Seekers to Corcoran, bringing along 15 years of knowledge of the industry.

Since becoming a real estate agent in 2001, Mr. Friedman has closed sales from Water Mill to Amagansett, with a particular concentration in East Hampton, according to a release by Corcoran.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, he attended Washington & Lee University and studied the history of the South and fine arts. Mr. Friedman lives in East Hampton and enjoys teaching clients about the differences among South Fork communities, the release said.

Prior to going into real estate, he served as a legislative assistant to a Seattle congressman, as a department store and Brooks Brothers store manager in Cleveland, as a gift manufacturer’s representative, and as a store owner for 15 years in Cleveland and then again in East Hampton at Who’d A Thought.

Hamptons Rental Market Remains Alive and Well

To paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of the demise of the Hamptons summer-rental market are greatly exaggerated. “Any hint that the Hamptons rental market is anything but robust is completely wrong,” said Corcoran associate broker Gary DePersia in East Hampton. An interesting dynamic is stirring in the Hamptons vacation-rental market. Although there has been an unprecedented rise in short-term rentals and the aftershocks of the COVID-19 pandemic linger, it has been a bumper crop year for Wall Street, interest rates have remained steady and a new breed of demanding customer is emerging. Despite it all, the Hamptons vacation-rental market remains as ... 19 Jun 2025 by Joseph Finora
