The late Daniel Breen’s 5.5-acre estate at 32 Middle Lane in East Hampton has sold after being listed for $29.95 million.

While the final sale price was not disclosed, it is surely among the top transactions year-to-date on the East End. The seller was listed only as Dune Park LLC—though The New York Post identified the property as Mr. Breen’s—and the buyer is listed as 32 Middle Lane LLC.

According to Dougles Elliman Real Estate, whose Paul Brennan made the sale, 32 Middle Lane was built in 1931, designed by architect Aymar Embury II, a frequent collaborator of Robert Moses. This is the first time it’s changed hands outside of the original family who owned it.

With 8,268 square feet of living space, the residence boasts 6 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms, 3 half-baths, a formal dining room and a grand living room. Among the amenities and features are a pool, pond, guest house, mature landscaping and specimen trees.

According to his New York Times obituary, Mr. Breen died on June 27, 2016, at the age of 87. Hailing from Houston, Texas, and East Hampton, he was considered a pioneer of investment management, The Times states. He was a member of the Maidstone Club in East Hampton and National Golf Links of America in Southampton.

Hamptons Median Home Price Reaches $2 Million for the First Time

The first-quarter home sales reports for the Hamptons real estate market are in, and it’s positive news all around. The number of sales, the median sales price and the amount of inventory were all up, according to three different reports issued by area real estate firms.
