A 19th century barn that was disassembled and transported from Vermont to Sagaponack Village, where it was recreated as a residence, has sold for $7.6 million.
The 1.4-acre parcel at 608 Sagaponack Main Street has a long driveway to the four-bedroom home with antique beams and wide-plank floors. Though the residence has rustic charm, it is equipped with all necessary modern conveniences, according to the listing, which states that light suffuses the interiors while French doors open to the tranquil backyard, pool and mature specimen trees.
The property borders a 10-acre reserve and has southwesterly views for “stellar sunset vistas,” the listing states, adding that the existing 3,058-square-foot home can be enjoyed as is, expanded or built anew.
The deal closed on September 12, according to The Real Estate Report Inc., which reported that the seller was William Kistler and the new owner is Michael Green.
Marilyn Clark, Ginger Thoerner, Debby Koster and Raquel Lopez of the Clark + Thoerner Team at Sotheby’s International Realty had the listing.
“It was a pleasure representing this charming barn-style home in a magical setting near the renowned Madoo Conservancy,” the Clark + Thoerner Team shared.
