A new, modern, oceanfront residence in Sagaponack Village that is set to be complete by the end of this summer just sold for $20.5 million, a price that places it among the top 10 Hamptons sales of 2020 so far.

Located at 25 Potato Road and set on an acre-plus, the home is being built by Telemark of Bridgehampton and was designed by architecture and interior design firm Grade of Manhattan and landscape architecture firm LaGuardia Design Group of Water Mill.

According to Douglas Elliman Real Estate, 25 Potato Road was inspired by the demand for warmer and more natural modern oceanfront homes, and balances California beach chic with sophisticated modern design.

There are 5,000 square feet of living space, in the six-bedroom, five-bathroom and one-half-bath home. Multiple terraces feature built-in sitting and the home has a gas fire feature and an infinity pool with a glass waterfall. Large, open lawn spaces among the dunescape provide areas for entertaining, and a boardwalk with beach seating leads to the beach.

Douglas Elliman’s Hara Kang, Justin Agnello and James Keogh of The Atlantic Team and Michael Lorber and Erica Grossman represented the property. The last asking price was $25 million.

Hamptons Rental Market Remains Alive and Well

To paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of the demise of the Hamptons summer-rental market are greatly exaggerated. “Any hint that the Hamptons rental market is anything but robust is completely wrong,” said Corcoran associate broker Gary DePersia in East Hampton. An interesting dynamic is stirring in the Hamptons vacation-rental market. Although there has been an unprecedented rise in short-term rentals and the aftershocks of the COVID-19 pandemic linger, it has been a bumper crop year for Wall Street, interest rates have remained steady and a new breed of demanding customer is emerging. Despite it all, the Hamptons vacation-rental market remains as ... 19 Jun 2025 by Joseph Finora
