After six years on the market with a variety of brokers, a Montauk property with a striking modern residence just sold for $14 million, the most ever paid for a single-family, nonwaterfront home in the hamlet.

The address is 14 Maple Street, a 0.92-acre property off Old Montauk Highway, and comes with access to a walking path to the beach at Gurney’s Montauk Resort.

The 8,423-square-foot home built in 2014 is 125 feet above sea level with ocean views from the floor-to-ceiling windows in almost every room. It has six bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two half-baths. There is Siberian oak flooring throughout, two gas fireplaces with stone surrounds, a raw wood accent wall behind the breakfast table and a wood ceiling in the primary bedroom.

The open-concept living room and kitchen enjoy panoramic ocean views, and sliding glass doors open to a 2,500-square-foot sandblasted Carrara marble patio, surrounding a 45-foot heated saltwater Gunite pool with a waterfall edge.

The Arclinea kitchen features 4-inch marble countertops, top-of-the-line appliances, a butler’s pantry and a wet bar. A double-sided gas fireplace separates the living room from the formal dining room. Completing the first level are a junior primary suite with ocean views and a spa-like bathroom with dual sinks and a glass-enclosed rain shower, and an optional office or bedroom suite with a full bathroom.

On the second level, a master suite with a private terrace overlooks the pool and has ocean views. The primary bathroom boasts double sinks, a free-standing tub, tile designed to evoke sandy beach and an outdoor rain shower. A second-floor den with a gas fireplace and wet bar provides an additional area to lounge and enjoy the views.

The fully finished lower level with 8-foot ceilings has a living room, a gym, two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, an additional bedroom, another full bathroom, a theater-ready room and mechanical rooms.

A 1,745-square-foot rooftop deck includes a fire pit.

The last asking price was $14.5 million. Douglas Elliman’s Kyle Rosko, Marcy Braun and Daniel Mckay represented the listing, and Elliman’s Neal Sroka brought the buyer to the deal.

“It was such an amazing experience to represent this incredible home as both a rental and a sales listing over the past few years,” Rosko said. “Perched 125 feet above sea level, it’s truly a one-of-a-kind island in the sky, and it’s a thrill to step onto this property every single time. After multiple times on the market with different brokers, we’re so proud to have achieved one of the most impressive price points of the year in Montauk for our client, and it was also a joy to put together an all Elliman deal, working with our talented colleague Neal Sroka. Congrats to our sellers, the new owners that get to enjoy the ultimate lifestyle experience this special home affords, and to all involved in this memorable sale!”

Hamptons Median Home Price Reaches $2 Million for the First Time

The first-quarter home sales reports for the Hamptons real estate market are in, and it’s positive news all around.
