A Southampton Village estate section property that was on the market for the first time in 40 years recently sold for $9.63 million, just shy of its $10 million asking price.

At 240 Wyandanch Lane, the property is 2.3 acres fronting Old Town Pond and just 400 feet from Wyandanch Beach. The 1984 modern residence is 5,866 square feet with four bedrooms and six full bathrooms, and comes with a pool.

The listing notes that the next owner could redevelop or transform the property.

Sandra Liveric of the Sotheby’s International Realty Southampton office had the listing. Molly Ferrer, also of the Sotheby’s Southampton office, represented the buyer.
