SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — Elver Rojas Gaona, 31, of Springs was arrested by Sag Harbor Village Police on Hampton Street around midnight last Thursday, October 2, and charged with misdemeanor DWI. Police said Rojas Gaona was driving a 2011 Honda Accord south on Hampton Street and was swerving across lane lines leading to the traffic stop. He appeared intoxicated, the officer reported, and failed sobriety tests. Rojas Gaona was also charged with misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Rivadeneira Samaniego, 38, of East Hampton was arrested by Sag Harbor Village Police and charged with leaving the scene of an accident in which there was physical injury without stopping, a misdemeanor, as well as a moving violation charge of improper lane use Sunday morning. Police said that Rivadeneira Samaniego was driving a work vehicle, a 2013 Mercedes van, Saturday night, south on Hampton Street/Route 114 when the side mirror of his van struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway. Curran, 41, was arrested by Village Police and charged with a misdemeanor count of operating a boat while intoxicated and obstructing governmental business on Sunday afternoon. Police said Curran was operating a 19-foot Novurania, a tender boat for the yacht Serenity, which was anchored in Sag Harbor, and had sped through the “no wake” zone in Sag Harbor Cove, moving in excess of the 5 mph speed limit.
