A No-Brainer

I’ve been upstate at college for a few weeks now, and the people I have met here have never met my mom. Despite that, I’d be willing to bet they know just as much about her as they do about me.

My mom is Cyndi McNamara, and she is currently running for Southampton Town Council. She is my best friend and someone I have always been able to count on to have my back. She is driven. When she sets her mind to something, she does everything in her power to see it through until the end. She is strong in her ideas, and I have seen the work that goes into them.

My mom is thorough: If she cares about an issue, she has spent hours researching, compiling facts and creating solutions based off this research. And trust me when I say that she cares about this town.

She has also shown me the importance of self-sacrifice and hard work. A few years ago, when my dad lost his help for his landscaping business, my mom stepped in, no questions asked. Every day, my mom works beside my dad, pushing wheelbarrows, cutting lawns, and providing for my sister and I. After work, she comes home and works on her campaign for Town Board.

My mom’s determination to support our family, as well as the community around her, is inspiring, and something that will surely stick with me when I one day have a family of my own.

I know that if my mom is elected, she’ll put in the work, because she already has been for years.

I encourage you to consider giving her your vote this November. If you care about bettering this town and making real change, it’s a no-brainer.
