Adeline M. (née Lauria) Territo, a two-year resident of Southampton, died November 12 at Southampton Hospital. She was 88.
Born in West Brighton, Staten Island, she graduated from Curtis High School. She worked as an administrative assistant for a number of firms in Manhattan and on Staten Island before becoming a homemaker.
In 1950 she moved to Randall Manor, where she resided for three decades until relocating to Boca Raton, Florida, and then finally settling in Southampton to be near her son.
She was a member of the Randall Manor Women’s Club, serving as president for two terms. She also volunteered for a number of other causes. According to her son, Jay Territo of Southampton and New York City, she was always kind and generous to her friends and family.
In addition to her son, she is survived by a daughter, Gerri Fitzgibbons; four sisters, Rita Baeszler, Josephine Walrod, Jean McNamara and Doris McCahill; four grandsons; and nine great-grandchildren.
Her husband of 48 years, James Territo, predeceased her in 1991.
A graveside service was held on November 15 at Moravian Cemetery in New Dorp, Staten Island. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Matthew Funeral Home in Willowbrook, Staten Island.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Southampton Hospital Foundation, 240 Meeting House Lane, Southampton, NY 11968 would be appreciated by the family.
