Albert Phillips of Sag Harbor died on September 29 at Southampton Hospital. He was 84.
Born June 14, 1924, in Manhattan to Blanche (née Barbier) and Winfred Phillips, he was a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He worked for East Hampton Cleaners and was a member of the American Legion of East Hampton.
He is survived by his wife, Anne (née Becker) Phillips of Sag Harbor; a son, Albert Phillips Jr. of Sag Harbor; four daughters, Janet Johnson of Maine and Susan Gaines, Virginia Bennett, and Karen Phillips, all of Sag Harbor; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held today, Thursday, October 2, at 10 a.m. at Yardley & Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
