Amelia S. Davis of Water Mill died on December 18 at Southampton Hospital following a long illness. Also known as “Mimi,” she was 54.
Born in Princeton, New Jersey, the daughter of the late George Vietor Davis and Maude O. Davis, she lived in South Lake Tahoe, California, and was a lifelong summer resident of Water Mill until settling in Water Mill full-time a few years ago. She was a member of the Southampton Bathing Corporation, the Meadow Club, and the Southampton Yacht Club.
An avid equestrian, tennis player, skier, and sportswoman in general, she loved life, survivors said last week, loved her son dearly, and loved all her friends.
She is survived by a son, John Michael Giordano of Seattle, Washington; two brothers, David O. Davis of Hawaii, G. Vietor Davis Jr. of Virginia; and a dear friend, Tom Connor of Water Mill.
Funeral arrangements, including interment at Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri, on December 29, were under the direction of the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Southampton Hospital Foundation, 240 Meeting House Lane, Southampton, NY 11968 would be appreciated by the family.
