My neighbor, a registered Independent, called me during the Republican Convention expressing shock that our District I congressman, Lee Zeldin, was a Trump supporter. It’s easy to accept his rhetoric until we recognize that the Trump clone is aggressively pushing the president’s agenda in Congress.
In November, we have a powerful alternative in Dr. Nancy Goroff, a chemist at Stony Brook University. Someone who actually practices and believes in science. Someone who can understand the complexities of climate change and do something about it. Someone who knows that renewable energy production and storage is vital to combating climate change.
Under Dr. Goroff’s leadership at Stony Brook, her Chemistry Department secured $22 million for battery storage research. This is a leader who deeply understands the issues.
Nancy Goroff will be speaking at the Saturday, September 12, Southampton Town Democratic Club virtual breakfast (shdemclub.com) at 10 a.m. Sign up to learn more about this outstanding candidate!

September 11 and October 7, similar dates of infamy for strong allies with similarly divergent reactions. Now gathered mobs of protesters are cheering on those who cry “Death to America” and call for the complete annihilation and genocide of the...
On June 25, registered Democrats will go to the ballot box to determine who will represent their ticket for New York’s 1st Congressional District. Although CD1 has recently been held by Republicans, both parties have assumed leadership over the years....
I thank Barbara Ring for aptly proving my point. In response to my letter [“An Alliance,” Letters, April 11], which decried the state of civic public discourse in Hampton Bays as being overtaken by misinformation, fear-mongering and conspiracy peddling, Ring...
