Arthur C. Nordlund of Hampton Bays died at San Simeon by the Sound Nursing Home in Greenport on Wednesday, February 11. He was 80.
Mr. Nordlund was originally from Massapequa and moved to Hampton Bays some 26 years ago. He was a retired sales and purchasing agent for Grumman Aerospace in Bethpage.
He was also a sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and a member of the Hand Aldrich American Legion Post # 924 in Hampton Bays.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara M. (nee Lorentzen) Nordlund; a sister, Kordi Heidel, of New Hampshire; close friend Ann Moran; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Nordlund was cremated at Mount Pleasant Crematory and Cemetery in Center Moriches on February 12. A wake was held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on February 20, where members of the Hand Aldrich American Legion Post # 924 conducted services. A funeral service conducted by the Reverend Bernadette Sullivan was held at the Church of St. Mary in Hampton Bays on February 21, and a reception followed in the Fireside Room of the church.
