Barbara H. Lawson, a resident of Bridgehampton for 20 years, died on October 19 at the Hampton Care Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Southampton.
Best known as one of the preeminent real estate brokers on the East End during the late 1970s to mid 1990s, she was 65.
Born October 24, 1942, and raised in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Mary Louise and Ward B. Hunsinger. After graduating from Pine Manor College in 1962, she lived and worked in New York City and Pennsylvania.
She is survived by a son, J. Christian Stevens of Bridgehampton; a daughter, Kay Preston Lawson of Sag Harbor; two sisters, Anne Sasser of Florida and Louise Sharp of Delaware; a brother, Jack Hunsinger of Pennsylvania; and a grandson, Nicholas A.B. Stevens.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Bridgehampton.
