Brian Peter Nikolich of South Carolina, grandson of Barbara and Peter C. Nikolich of Southampton, died on June 19 following a long struggle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He was 35.
Raised in Connecticut, he graduated from Ridgefield High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech in 1996.
He began his career in construction management with IDC Construction Management Inc. in Oregon, and went on to work on projects in Texas and Maryland before engaging in residential home-building in Pennsylvania. He then returned to commercial construction in South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife of nine years, Jameela Geiger Nikolich; two children, Kevan Ehrgott Nikolich and Katherine Geiger Nikolich; and his parents, Peter and Maureen W. Nikolich, all of South Carolina. He is also survived by a brother, John Werner Nikolich and his wife Jennifer of Connecticut; and his paternal grandparents, Peter C. and Barbara Nikolich of Southampton. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Jack and Sara Werner.
Services were held on June 22 at the Mackey Mortuary with the Reverend Dr. Pamela Cole officiating.
