Christine Colbert Of Hampton Bays Dies January 26

Christine A. Colbert

Christine A. Colbert of Hampton Bays died on January 26  at the Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was 70.

She was a graduate of Suffolk Community College and worked for Abraham and Strauss in Lake Grove, Lerners, John  Hancock of Riverhead and most recently as the human resources manager for Comfort  Keepers of Riverhead.

She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond. She is survived by four children, Linda M. Long and husband Gary of Cutchogue, Jean A. Harris and husband James of Riverhead, Denise L. Wilmoth of Hampton Bays and Kelly A. Simmons and husband Joseph of  Hampton Bays; eight grandchildren, Gary Long, Michelle  Long and husband Ben Wessler, Corrin Austria and husband Kyle, Jaime Ness and  husband Ryan, Jim Harris, Joey Simmons, Jessica Simmons and Jacki Goy; and four great-grandchildren, Nya Long, Judah Wessler, Kayla  Simmons and Ashley Austria; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou of Illinois and Ann Pavlovsky of Hampton Bays. She was predeceased by a brother, James Durante.

Visiting was held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home on Monday, January 28. A prayer service took place on Tuesday, January 29, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with clergy  from the Church of St. Rosalie officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Sloan  Kettering Cancer Center, www.sloankettering.org.

Southampton Police Reports for the Week of May 8

QUOGUE — Quogue Village Police arrested Steven Failla, 48, of Quogue on May 3 at 12:14 a.m. at Jessup Avenue and charged him with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. The officers were responding to a physical dispute at a residence on Jessup Avenue. Officers on scene performed an investigation and subsequently arrested Failla, as the victim of the assault sustained a physical injury to a hand, police said. Failla was held for morning arraignment. Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of May 8

Gintaras Satas, 58, of Mastic was arrested at about 11:30 p.m. on May 2 and charged with misdemeanor DWI and several vehicle and traffic violations after the vehicle he was driving nearly struck a Southampton Town Police car that was on the side of Montauk Highway in Water Mill with its lights on conducting a traffic stop of another vehicle. When approached by the officer, Satas was found to be unsteady on his feet and a breath alcohol test indicated he had been drinking more than the legal limit, according to police. by Staff Writer
