David R. Cutroneo of Center Moriches died at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in Patchogue on Wednesday, December 10. He was 100.
A builder by trade, he worked for Bruce Militello of Hampton Bays. He lived in East Quogue and more recently in Quogue before relocating to the South Bay Adult Home in Center Moriches.
According to loved ones, Mr. Cutroneo was a vital and enthusiastic man until his recent illness, and he enjoyed his time residing at the adult home.
Mr. Cutroneo received a citation from President George W. Bush when he celebrated his 100th birthday in May.
He is survived by a daughter, Sandra J. Celi and her husband Greg of Quogue; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred (née Dauria) Cutroneo; and a daughter, Joan Rosanti.
A wake was held on December 12 at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays, where a funeral service was held on December 13 with clergy from St. Rosalie’s Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery in East Quogue.
