Former Southampton resident Denis Edmund Tanguay died October 10 at Westhampton Care Center, where he had lived for more than 11 years after suffering a severe stroke. He was 68.
Mr. Tanguay graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School in Massachusetts in 1960 and went on to obtain his electrician’s license. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for four years.
After working in Grafton, Massachusetts, for several years, he moved to Southampton in 1974 and was an electrician for Southampton Village for 18 years.
Predeceased by his parents, Noel and Marie-Anne Tanguay, he is survived by two sisters, Mariette Pinkus and her husband Joseph of Southampton and Lise O’Connell and her husband Daniel of Massachusetts. Mr. Tanguay is also survived by a nephew, Sean O’Connell and his wife Cathy of Massachusetts; four nieces, Shannon Hosie and her husband Daron of Hampton Bays, Michelle Romanosky of Moriches, Danielle Randall and her husband Glenn of Massachusetts and Nicole Nelson and her husband Gregory of Massachusetts; and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton.
