Doris Miletti Of Southampton Dies March 5

Doris H. Miletti of Southampton died on March 5. She was 93.

Born on Staten Island on February 27, 1920, to Henry Cherny and Helen Hetzer Cherny, she was a retired kindergarten teacher from Glen Cove.

Ms. Miletti had a love for roses that was nurtured by her husband, Mario, during their years together. He was the president of the local rose society for a time and he and Doris created and maintained a magnificent rose garden at their home in Southampton. He predeceased her in 1986.

Ms. Miletti went on become Dr. Peter Dyner’s secretary and dear friend after he assumed Dr. Miletti’s practice in Southampton.

She was an active member in the First Presbyterian Church in Southampton, at which a funeral service was held for her on Monday, March 11. Interment will be next to her mother at Flushing Cemetery.
