Elizabeth Ellen Andrews of East Moriches, formerly of Hampton Bays, died on July 4 at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip. She was 86.
Born in Brooklyn on May 28, 1922, to William and Lucy Schneider, she sang soprano in the choir of the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church for many years and is a former member of the Baxter Guild of Good Samaritan Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Stuart Andrews of East Moriches; two sons and their wives, Bob and Dianne Andrews of Selden and Bill and Cynthia Andrews of Florida; a brother, John Schneider of Florida; eight grandchildren, Dawn, Kerri, Christopher, Jaime, Colin, Dana, Amanda and Greg; and a great-granddaughter, Makaila. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jennifer.
The family received friends on July 7 and 8 at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral service officiated by Reverend Elaine Rhodes was held on July 9 at the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church. Interment followed at Flying Point Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Andrews’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
