Ellen Marie Williams of East Quogue died at the Central Island Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, October 15. She was 62.

Born December 22, 1948, in Bethpage to Louis and Cynthia Haun, she attended Riverhead High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree at Southampton College and her Master of Business Administration at Virginia Tech University. She the treasurer for the East Quogue School District for 27 years, as well as a self-employed accountant 28 years.

She was an active member of the East Quogue Chamber of Commerce and attended Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Ms. Williams enjoyed working around her home and was an avid tennis player for 20 years. She loved to play at local tennis courts from East Quogue to Westhampton and Tiana shores. She also enjoyed square dancing and country dancing and watching the “Wheel of Fortune.”

Ms. Williams worked tirelessly to improve everyone’s life whether it was family or those she worked with, survivors said.

She is survived by her children, Jonathan Williams of East Quogue, and Thomas Williams and his wife Christine of Virginia; and grandson, Nicholas Williams. She was predeceased by her sister, Carol Dominski.

Visitation will take place Friday, October 21, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, October 22, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays; Pastor John Kenreich will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Central Island Rehabilitation Center, 825 Old Country Road, Plainview, NY 11803, would be appreciated by the family.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of April 25

Michael Martin, 58, of Montclair, New Jersey, was arrested by Southampton Town Police on April 22 at 1:02 a.m. on Old Riverhead Road in Northampton and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor.
