Eric Ferrara, formerly of Southampton, died suddenly and unexpectedly on April 10 in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was 65.
Born at Southampton Hospital on January 19, 1959, he attended both Our Lady of the Hamptons and Southampton public schools, graduating in 1977. He also attended Suffolk Community College.
He was active with the Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance during the 1970s and 1980s, serving in the capacity of advanced EMT.
He enjoyed cooking, playing golf, and at one time was a member and shareholder at Noyac Golf Club.
He made a career in the field of radio communications.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Alice Ferrara of Southampton; and his cousin, Lynda (Ferrara) Molleur of Portsmouth, Rhode Island. He is survived by Marta, his wife of 33 years; son Francesco of Los Angeles; brother Gerry Ferrara and his wife, Alejandra, of Riverhead; cousin Donna Ferrara-Sherry and her husband James J. Sherry of Hampton Bays. He is also survived by his cousins Lisa Barsczeski of East Moriches and Jaymes J.J. Sherry of Florida. On his mother’s side, there are numerous cousins within the Simmons family of Hampton Bays and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Per his expressed wishes, no services will be held. His remains were cremated and will be returned to the South Fork.
