Evelyn J. Gordon dies at 93

Evelyn J. Gordon

Evelyn J. Gordon, a resident of Westhampton Beach for more than 50 years, died on June 15 at Spa Creek Center in Annapolis, Maryland. She was 93.

She was born September 24, 1916, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Mildred J. and William W. LaViolette. She moved to the Spa Creek Center in 2003.

She is survived by twin siblings, William W. LaViolette Jr. of Maryland and Mildred E. Harrison of California; a niece, M. Janet Harrison of California; and three nephews, William W. LaViolette III of France, Jay R. LaViolette of Washington, and Stanley E. Harrison of California. Her husband, Henry F. Gordon, and a twin sister, Frances C. Fultz predeceased her.

No services were held. Interment was at Westhampton Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the George P. Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater, Maryland.

Under Siege

Our Sag Harbor park tennis courts are under siege. There are eight clay courts and two hard courts.
