For months now, the liberal media has promoted the false narrative that the Donald Trump Department of Justice has been weaponized against former Obama and Biden officials.
In fact, the Trump DOJ is pursuing investigations into these former members of those Democrat administrations to root out evidence exposing their weaponization of our Department of Justice. The purpose of “lawfare” was to financially, criminally and politically ruin former President Trump, rendering him unable to participate in national politics. Miraculously in spite of their naked abuse of power, Democrats failed.
So, to be clear, the effort by the current administration to expose these crimes is rooted in a respect for our rule of law and our Constitution. It is not a political witch hunt. Only the statute of limitations will prevent real justice from being visited on the conspirators. Those of us who remember Watergate as a national disgrace find the actions of the Biden DOJ magnitudes worse.
The evening news is filled with footage of rioting in Democrat cities protesting the lawful activities of ICE agents. These Americans employed by our government to collect the illegal and often criminal aliens in our cities are doing their job. They are no less honorable than our first responders or military.
To watch them being attacked is unfathomable to me. They are fellow Americans, tasked with a difficult and dangerous job. Yet, in Democratic cities, they are called Nazis, and the Gestapo. These federal employees are subjected to physical attack for doing their lawful jobs.
It is disgusting to hear the left object to their anonymity, knowing full well it simply protects their families from reprisal, while armed members of Antifa are permitted to hide their faces from criminal prosecution and investigation. The tactics of anarchy are not patriotic. They are the furthest thing from a defense of free speech. The demonstrators are thugs.
America is now at the mercy of Democrat mayors and governors who apparently believe they aren’t obliged to follow the rule of law or respect the constitutional authority of the presidency. This is not virtuous — it is fomenting anarchy, which is a form of treason.
It is deeply disturbing to note the silence of Democrats in their acquiescence to the takeover of their party by young Marxists, who, if given access to real power, will destroy the great experiment in freedom we have shared with the world for 250 years. Make no mistake, what we see coming in New York City will be the template for the nation.
The question is: Does the hatred of Trump justify the destruction our country?
