Fred C. Meyer Of Sag Harbor Dies May 31

Fred C. Meyer of Sag Harbor and Scotch Plains, New Jersey, died on May 31, 2017, after battling pancreatic cancer for 19 months. He was 65.

Born in Paterson, New Jersey, the son of Fred and Regina Meyer, Mr. Meyer was raised in Wyckoff and Sag Harbor. He graduated from Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District and later from Rutgers University and Miles College School of Law. He had also lived in Birmingham, Alabama; Stamford, Connecticut; and Piscataway, New Jersey, before moving to Scotch Plains in 1983.

Mr. Meyer worked as a contract negotiator and retired in 2016 from AT&T in Bedminster, New Jersey.

He was proud to learn he was a local landmark when he overheard someone describe him as “the man that’s always painting that house.” When he wasn’t painting, he also loved to go fishing.

Mr. Meyer is survived by his wife, Barbara C. Cronenberger; his children, Andrea C. Meyer and Jared P. Meyer; a sister, Regina M. Di Turi and husband Pierino, and their six daughters, Tonia, Lina and husband Pat, Laura, Anna, Tina and husband Tom, and Catherine; and a sister-in-law, Ann Sisko and husband Zoltan; and nephew, Alex Sisko; along with many other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at at Stage House Tavern, US Route 22 East, Mountainside, NJ on Saturday, June 10, from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Sag Harbor. Condolences may be left at bradleyfuneralhomes.com.
