Henrietta Mongerson Dies On May 19

Henrietta T. Mongerson

Henrietta T. Mongerson of Southampton died on May 19 at San Simeon by the Sound Nursing Home in Greenport. She was 87.

Mrs. Mongerson is survived by her daughter, Sally Hawke and her husband David of Water Mill; three brothers, Daune Maurstad of Texas, Ingolf Maurstad of South Dakota, Douglas Maurstad of South Dakota; a sister, Joanne Hadland of Wisconsin; two granddaughters, Kristin Edson and her husband Evans of Southampton, and Karla Brantuk and her husband James of Cutchogue; and four great-grandchildren; Hawke, Sloane and Oliver Edson and Cole Brantuk. She was predeceased by her husband, Alan Mongerson; and two brothers, Marion Roger Maurstad (who died in infancy) and Marion Jewell Maurstad.

The family received friends on May 22 at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton, where a funeral service was conducted by Richard King. A private burial service was conducted at Water Mill Cemetery by the Reverend Richard Boyer. Memorial donations to Guide Dog foundation for the Blind, Inc. 371 E. Jericho Turnpike, Smithtown, NY 11787-2976 would be appreciated by the family.
