Joan Gannon Foley
Joan Gannon Foley of Southampton died on February 5. She was 90.
Along with her husband, Nicholas J. Foley, she moved to Southampton in 1973 after purchasing the Osborne Travel agency on Hampton Road. For more than 30 years, she was dedicated to feeding the poor, first through Catholic Charities and later through Human Resources of the Hamptons. She was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis of Assisi for more than 60 years.
She is predeceased by her husband; and two siblings, John A. and Myles R. Gannon. She is survived by a sister, Mary Patricia Gannon; six nieces and nephews; 14 grandnieces and grandnephews; and 23 great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
A funeral service was held on February 8 at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton. Arrangements were under the direction of the O’Connell Funeral Home of Southampton.
