Katherine Kitty" Lee"

Former East Quogue resident Katherine “Kitty” Lee died on January 31 at the Westhampton Care Center. A very active parishioner at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Hampton Bays for many years, she was 93.

Predeceased by her husband, John “Jack” J. Lee in 1986, she is survived by two nephews, William Lee of Hampton Bays and Bruce Scott of California; a niece, Mary Lopreto of Florida; and a grand-niece, Mary Lee Thode of Hauppauge. She was also predeceased by a sister, Helen Conklin.

The family received visitors on January 3 at J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays, where prayer
services were conducted by the Reverend Bernadette Sullivan, rector of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.

East Quogue School District Budget of $32.3 Million on the Ballot Tuesday

The East Quogue School District will ask voters to approve the district’s proposed $32.3 million budget for the 2025-26 school year, which hikes spending by more than 5 percent but does not pierce the state tax cap.
