Kathleen Bittel Of Hampton Bays Dies September 18

Kathleen Bittel of Hampton Bays died on September 18. She was 69.

She was born in Brooklyn on July 11, 1946, to Eugene and Helen Dunn.

Ms. Bittel is survived by her husband, Roy; three children, Gerald Joseph O’Dwyer and wife Nancy, Mary Beth O’Dwyer and Suzanne Danielle O’Dwyer; grandchildren, Frank Daniel O’Dwyer, Christopher Aaron O’Dwyer, Olivia Nina O’Dwyer and Abagail Danielle O’Dwyer; a sister, Patricia Andre; and nieces and nephews, Jessica Sperling, Tyrone Sperling, Gerard Andre and Aileen Andre.

The family received friends on September 21 at J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A funeral Mass took place at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays on September 22, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.

QUOGUE — Quogue Village Police arrested Steven Failla, 48, of Quogue on May 3 at 12:14 a.m. at Jessup Avenue and charged him with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. The officers were responding to a physical dispute at a residence on Jessup Avenue. Officers on scene performed an investigation and subsequently arrested Failla, as the victim of the assault sustained a physical injury to a hand, police said. Failla was held for morning arraignment. Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of May 8

Gintaras Satas, 58, of Mastic was arrested at about 11:30 p.m. on May 2 and charged with misdemeanor DWI and several vehicle and traffic violations after the vehicle he was driving nearly struck a Southampton Town Police car that was on the side of Montauk Highway in Water Mill with its lights on conducting a traffic stop of another vehicle. When approached by the officer, Satas was found to be unsteady on his feet and a breath alcohol test indicated he had been drinking more than the legal limit, according to police. by Staff Writer
