Keith William Leno of Hampton Bays died suddenly on January 21. He was 59.
He was born on March 22, 1963, to Louis and Barbara Ann Leno in Mineola.
He graduated from Corpus Christi Grade School and Chaminade High School and attended Nassau County Community College.
After high school, he pursued his interest in restaurants and the food industry and co-owned several local establishments, including “Franklin Street Café” in Hempstead and “L.I. Law” in Mineola. Later in life, he worked for many years as the clubhouse manager at the Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton.
He enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, and preparing terrific cuisine based on experience gained from his many years in the restaurant business.
He was predeceased by his father Louis R. Leno. He is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Ann; and his five devoted siblings, Marc (Maryalice), Deirdre (Richard Finley), LuAnn (Martin Listl), Kevin (Lisa) and David (Terri); many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his dear Aunt Loretta
His sense of humor and joyous spirit will be missed by all of his friends, his family said.
The family will receive friends at Scott Rothwell Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on January 25 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, January 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays.
