Kevin C. Hogan of Hampton Bays died on August 2 at his home. He was 58.
Born in Queens to John P. Hogan and Beatrice Shannon Hogan on October 4, 1950, he attended St. Patrick’s School and Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School, both in Queens, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Herbert H. Lehman College in the Bronx. As a young man, he worked in the restaurant industry in Vermont and on Long Island. He finally settled in Hampton Bays, where he resided for the past 25 years.
Mr. Hogan loved the ocean and the mountains and was an avid skier, hiker and sports fan, rooting for the Yankees. And each year he volunteered at the Margaret Hand Memorial Golf Outing.
Mr. Hogan is survived by a sister, Maureen, and her husband, Kevin Kalmbach of Monroe; a nephew, Jeff Kalmbach of California; a loving friend, Sandra Walsh of Westhampton Beach; a lifelong friend, Michael Ladisa of Oyster Bay; several cousins; and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m., at the R.J. O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A funeral mass will be on Friday, August 7, at 10:30 a.m., at the Church of St. Rosalie, also in Hampton Bays.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to East End Hospice, P.O. Box 1048, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978 would be appreciated by the family. The Leo S. Walsh Foundation has offered to match any donations that are made to East End Hospice in Mr. Hogan’s name.
