Lillian F. Carlsen of Hampton Bays died on April 11 at Southampton Hospital. She was 86.
Born August 7, 1929, in Brooklyn to Ole Olsen and Kaspara Holvik, she was an English teacher at the junior high school in Waldwick, New Jersey, and later a substitute teacher at the Hampton Bays School District.
Ms. Carlsen is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bernt Carlsen of Hampton Bays; and three children, Steven Carlsen and wife Eileen of Larchmont, Peter Carlsen and wife Meg of Texas, and Karen Kupiecki and husband Michael of Washingtonville; six grandchildren, Richard Carlsen, Tom Carlsen, Sarah Carlsen, Rowan Carlsen, Clarissa Carlsen and Alex Kupiecki. She was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Roberts.
Visiting was on April 14 at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. The Reverend William Patrick Edward of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Southampton officiated at a funeral at the funeral home during visiting hours. Burial was at Good Ground Cemetery in Hampton Bays.
