Lucile C. Carter of East Quogue died at home on December 28, 2017. She was 94.
Mrs. Carter was born July 9, 1923, to Charles and Minnie Daly Cardo. She was born in Quogue and lived most of her adult life in East Quogue.
She graduated from Westhampton Beach High School and the Washington School for Secretaries. She had various part-time jobs through the years, but was primarily a housewife.
In addition to playing bridge and golf, she especially enjoyed swimming in the ocean at the Surf Club in Quogue. She also traveled on a number of trips with her husband, Lewis, who predeceased her in 2006.
Mrs. Carter is survived by a son, Kenneth (Jane) Carter of East Quogue; daughter Bonnie (Donald) Fleming of Delhi; grandson Paul (Melissa) Eckert of Bloomville; and granddaughter Jill (Robert) Purpura of Aquebogue. In addition, her great-granddaughters, Lacey and Adelynn Eckert, of Bloomville; and her brother, Carl (Winnie) Cardo, of Quogue and Florida also survive her; as well as her caregiver, Isabella Phillips.
A memorial service will be held the Church of St. Rosalie chapel in East Quogue on May 19 at 10:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Werner-Rothwell Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach.
