Mary P. Andersen died at her home in Hampton Bays on August 2. She was 77.
Born on March 13, 1938, in Long Island City, she was the daughter of Gerard and Anna (Natale) Salimeno, both of whom predeceased her.
She was a homemaker, artist and, in her later years, the director of the food pantry at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays. Survivors said she enjoyed cooking, painting and gardening but was happiest spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry Andersen; a son, Gerard Andersen and wife Jo-Ann; a daughter, Janice Hauptman and husband Jason; and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Marisa, Lauren and Jacqueline. She is also survived by two sisters, Florence Imparato, and Geraldine Gaudiello and husband Angelo; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays. Arrangements are under the direction of the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays.
