Mr. Koch may not have shared The Press editorial board’s increasingly liberal agenda, but he was a longtime resident of our village, and his family, still in mourning, deserves some respect as a result.
The Kochs have lived here and paid taxes for more than 30 years, and their children were raised in this community. They also have given very generously to many local organizations, and our village is all the better as a result.
I hope that, in the future, The Press will refrain from such attacks on those who have passed away and had done so much for Southampton but do not agree with the editorial board’s politics, and that you start to value differences of opinion in our small community, which was founded by those who came here for religious and political freedom and tolerance.

As life in the 21st century grows ever more complex, I find myself turning to recognized experts for guidance. These individuals are educated, skilled, experienced and passionate. A talented teacher will guide my grandchild through another successful school year. A...
If I’m remembering correctly, in the early stages of the planning for the refurbishing of what is now known as the Southampton Playhouse, there was going to be an area on the roof (or, at least, top floor) for food,...
