Phoebe Davis VanScoy of Hampton Bays and Windham, New York, died in her home on June 13. She was 60.

Born April 13, 1956, in Windham, where she grew up, she was the youngest of seven children—that included William, Glynn, Larry, Margy, Roy and Ted—of William and Harriet Davis. Her family ran and owned a boarding house called Crest Park, which her grandfather built. She graduated from Windham High School and then continued her education at Herkimer Community College, becoming a legal assistant, which she continued for more than 35 years.

Survivors said she enjoyed spending her free time in her backyard with her granddaughter and family. As much as she loved the beach she was a mountain girl at heart and always loved to go back to Windham to see her family and spend time in the mountains.

Ms. VanScoy is survived by her husband of 14 years, David VanScoy Jr.; a son, Keith Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Bobbie Sue; and granddaughter, Morgan Heidi Tuthill.

Funeral arrangements were under the directions of the R.J. O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, stjude.org, or the American Cancer Society, cancer.org.
