Longtime Hampton Bays resident Robert John Alberti II of North Carolina died on July 31 at Pender Memorial Hospital in Burgaw, North Carolina. He was 55.
Born July 15, 1953, in Suffolk County, he was a graduate of Hampton Bays High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors recalled that he was a fun-loving man with an outgoing personality who was always willing to help others. He will be remembered, they said, for his joyful spirit, generous heart and love for his family.
His passions were his Harley Davidson motorcycle and fishing.
Predeceased by his mother, Barbara Jean Sinclair Alberti, he is survived by his father, Robert John Alberti and his wife Gloria of Newport, North Carolina; a daughter, Brittany Alberti of Port Jefferson Station; a brother, Michael Alberti and his wife Diana of Newport; a sister, Vicky and her husband Mike Baldwin of Islip; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
