Robert Scott Jones Jr. of Hampton Bays died June 11 after a short illness. He was 84.
Born in Rockville Centre, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and attended programs at Duke University and Berea College.
After the war, he settled in New York City and began modeling for the Harkrider Modeling Agency. In the 1970s he moved to Hampton Bays, where he established an antique and collectible business, “Ada’s Attic,” with George Tetzel. The Town of Southampton has since acquired this site, restoring the building as the historic landmark “King House.”
In addition to Mr. Tetzel, he is survived by a sister, Doris and her husband William Greenewald; three nephews, William, Robert and Thomas; and a niece, Mary Criss.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.J. O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 27, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Rosalie’s Church in Hampton Bays.
