Rose Ammirati of Hampton Bays died at her home on Tuesday, February 3. She was 98.

Ms. Ammirati was born in Brooklyn on May 18, 1910, to Pietro and
Concetta DeCrescenzo. An avid golfer, she won several tournaments at the North Hills Golf Club in Manhasset during the late 1950s.

She is survived by a daughter,
Dorothy Vannata; a son, Joseph Ammirati Jr.; four grandchildren, Vivian Eyre, Donna Vannata, Joseph Ammirati III and Lorene Heath; and one great-grandchild.

A wake was held at the R.J. O’Shea Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on February 5. A funeral service was held at the funeral home on February 6, and interment followed at St. John’s Cemetery in Middle Village.

Snake Hollow Road Closure Rescheduled to Tuesday

Due to inclement weather, the final paving work for the Snake Hollow railroad crossing originally scheduled for Friday, May 16, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, May 20, when Snake Hollow Road in Bridgehampton will be closed to all except local traffic.
