Samuel H. Oliver of East Quogue died at the Westhampton Care Center on Thursday, July 31. He was 79.
Mr. Oliver was born and raised in East Quogue and was the founder of Oliver Plumbing. He was a former member of the East Quogue Fire Department.
According to loved ones, he enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling and fishing.
Mr. Oliver is survived by a son, Samuel Oliver and his wife Erin of East Quogue; a daughter, Cindy Lou Capobianco and her husband Frederick of Flanders; a sister, Jean Silcox of East Quogue; five grandchildren, Samantha Lee Judius and her husband Ryan, Dana Lynn Oliver, Melissa Louise, Megan Elizabeth, and Melanie Ann Capobianco; and one great-grandson, Anthony Scott Capobianco.
He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Louise; and a son, Scott Oliver.
Funeral services were held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays by members of the East Quogue Fire Department on August 4. The Reverend Kenneth Prill of the East Quogue United Methodist Church officiated at services on August 5. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery in East Quogue.
