Regarding the STAR Aquatics Center (a proposed public pool that will be built right off South Magee Street), I contacted the center to voice my opposition to the location of the proposed site. The reply was that “previous findings have shown that the facility would increase traffic by less than 2 percent, and that it would be primarily be used by people who are already on the road, going to and from work.”

Need I say more? I live off Magee Street. There is a half-hour wait to cross onto Route 27 from both sides of Magee Street. Do you really think that the workers are going to stop for a swim?

That is the most ridiculous location one could possibly choose for a pool, or any other commercial project. Just stand on Magee Street or Moses Lane and look at the standstill, every day, weekends as well.

Make it a park, for gosh sakes.
