United By Principles

Please take a moment to appreciate the dedication and determination of the current Sag Harbor Board of Education. They set the bar high, putting our children’s safety first while maintaining a truly exceptional level of education. They spent an unprecedented two years navigating a pandemic in the face of the school community’s collective needs and concerns. This was no easy task — especially for volunteers who also were navigating their own families through COVID. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for their service.

I hope we will have a big turnout for this School Board election. Let’s strengthen our community with shared purpose: supporting the children, educators and staff of our district to the best of our ability. Let’s choose to be united by principles over personalities.

I believe it’s necessary to elect a School Board that is visionary, diverse in skill and perspective, civil, and approachable.

Grainne Coen put great thought and effort into submitting herself for the ballot after serving on the audit committee. Her financial career is vast and speaks for itself. We are fortunate to have her willingness to serve.

Ronald Reed has served on our district Facilities Committee since 2018 and the Village Planning Board since 2019. He is a past School Board candidate and a proven asset who is committed to supporting our community.

I was fortunate to befriend both Grainne Coen, Ronald Reed and their families when our boys were in kindergarten together at Sag Harbor Elementary School. They are extremely dedicated parents and are prepared to expand that dedication in service to the BOE.

I hope you join me in supporting them with your vote.
