V For Victory

Branding in our societies throughout the world is something that we see daily. We see it in all sorts of advertising on our shirts, jackets and ball caps, promoting sports teams, merchandise, causes, political ideologies, protests, etc.

Most of us are weary of 2020 and looking for a great New Year, with the vaccines for COVID-19 now beginning to be dispersed. Sometimes when we vote in elections or donate blood, a sticker is offered for us to display on our clothing.

I guess one could look at this as bragging rights, but I also believe it has a positive message and is a reminder to others of the event. Some may ignore the message, but others may go to the polls or the blood drive.

So maybe a sticker or a patch with a “V” on it, indicating “Victory” against this dreadful pandemic. Bragging rights, yes, but maybe more importantly displaying to others that we are walking, talking and functioning, without any ill effects from the inoculation. And this may also bring us to herd immunity just a little quicker.

There have always been some who are against vaccines, and that is their choice. I, as many, look forward to getting back to normal, and I do not think this idea will hurt our chances.

I hope that something like this is offered at the inoculation sites; if not, we can surely make our own.

Hoping all have a happy and healthy New Year.
